Koh Chang BeachesThe east side beaches of Koh Chang feature breathtaking purple sunrises and is mostly undeveloped while the beaches of the west side showcase awe inspiring orange sunsets and vanilla skies is more developed. Some of the best beaches are Had Sai Khao (White Sand), Klong Son, Klong Prao, Kai Bae, Bai Lan, Tha Nam (Lonely Beach) and Bang Bao. Koh Chang TemplesAs Thai religion indicates, every man should be a monk at least once in their lives for a minimum of three months. Every village has a temple, in Koh Chang you can find several temples; Wat Bang Bao is by the road to Baan Ba Bao, Wat Khlong Prao is also on the same road. Wat Khlong Son is about 500 meters from the intersection with Baan Khlong Son heading to the bay, and there are others in this area as well as a famous Chinese Temple. Koh Chang Outer IslandsKoh Chang is part of an archipelago of around 50 islands; the outer islands have some excellent dive spots with visibility up to 30 metres in the best months. Boriwaen Yutthanavee (Naval Battle Ground)The Naval Battle Ground is an important historical site where the Thai Naval Ship Thonburi was sank by the French Navy at the end of the French colonization of Thailand in the waters of Ao Salak Petch. The Koh Chang Yutthanavi Day is the yearly memorial service is held in Trat where museum has been built in Laem Ngnob Beach, exhibits a giant statue of Krom Luang Chumpon Khet Udomsak important figure during the war. The event takes place between January 17 and 21 celebrated with floating wreaths in memory of those who died in the war. The sunken ship is now a preferred diving spot and has become a reef offering safe heaven for thousands of colorful sea dwellers.
